Unhappy having issues...

So I had a U-bolt on my front lower control arm give out last friday. I've gone through two different companies to order a replacement, both are apparently 9/16" in diameter and are supposedly OEM parts, but wont fit through the bolt holes on the frame. I've been told they used these bolts from 1967-1991 but I just cant figure out why It doesn't fit my truck... anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance. ~Craig

Re: having issues...

The 9/16" u-bolts are the ones you want... now it's just time to "upgrade" the mounting holes! Get your trusty 1/2" drill out and slap in a 9/16" drill bit. Drill em out and slide in the beefy u-bolts... away you go!

The 9/16" u-bolts are what was used w/disc brakes. The smaller 1/2" u-bolts were used on drum brake equipped trucks.

Upgrading is as simple as drilling the holes to the larger size.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: having issues...

I had the same prob with my ubolts from Totally stainless they had 1 pair out of the two pair that came with the bolt kit that did not have the correct opening from outer thread to outer thread. Not sure if it the same prob you are having.
