Seat Help

I found an original bench seat in fairly good condition.I should really get it reupholpstered. My question is should I just find a late model seat and do the samething or are the old seats fairly comfortable?
I havebuckets now but 2 kids that want to ride with dad so I need a bench seat.

Re: Seat Help

Not sure what your price range is, but I'm using one by Glide Engineering. It looks close to stock but has a bench that lifts up for storage underneath, and a 50/50 split back that reclines a little and folds down separate or together so that you can get behind your seat. I wanted a stock look and the late model function. My stock seat was comfortable. It was almost all of the suspension I had with a 3/4 ton chassis. If your curious about what they look like check out my build thread. I know there's a bunch of guys/gals on here that use a late model seat as well. Good luck!

Re: Seat Help

I have enough funds to reupholster a seat.My delima is whether to redo the original style which is in pretty good condition or find a later model one which by everything I could see needs to be redone as there arent too many in good shape

what later model ones work best for the 55-59 trucks? my 55 does not have a seat and I am wondering what I should be looking for width wise.

Re: Seat Help

glide engineering seats are nice but I have bought somewhere around 20 55-59 trucks and have paid less for each truck than those seats cost
