Instrument Lighting
My lights are very dim with full on. I have not as yet checked the the bulbs but it looks like every instrument is lite. Do they make brighter buls or a way to get them brighter. Would I have to change the board?

Re: Instrument Lighting
Have you turned the light switch knob to brighten or dim them?

Re: Instrument Lighting
If after you do this, they're still too dim, it may be the switch itself. It's basically a rheostat and it may be defective. I'd try removing it and spraying it with CRC or similar and just moving it back and forth to see if it can wipe itself clean...

Re: Instrument Lighting
I agree with what has been mentioned above, and you can also try painting the metal that sits behind the plastic lens. I painted mine white and it really helped to brighten everything up. Here's a link to FAQ that shows what I'm talking about.

Re: Instrument Lighting
stock, the lights are dim. Period.
I recomend taking it all apart, and anything you see that is that nasty shade of green... paint it white. That'll help more than bulbs alone. Then you can get 168 bulbs instead of the 194 bulbs that are in there. If THAT ain't enough, you'll have to go LED. Byrd (i think that's how you spell his screen name) sells awsome ones at a good price. |

Re: Instrument Lighting
What do you mean by that? Type of bulb?

Re: Instrument Lighting
that's the number given to that kind of lamp. The 194 lamp is a wedge base, peanut shaped bulb with 1.5 candle power... the 168 is the exact same, but 3 candle power.

Re: Instrument Lighting
if you still cant get it fixed, there are companies that manufacture led 194 bulbs that fit in our dashes. They shine very bright even when the knob is turned to dim. Just an idea.
