Hey guys

I have a 86 K10 LWB which at one point had dual tanks
At the present time it only has the Drvs tank, and it's a 65 Liter tank.

Now I have to replace the sock on the sending unit, as it's completely saturated with crap, and killing fuel pumps, so I figured it's a good time to upgrade.

I was wondering If I could put in a bigger tank, and still use the same straps, and brackets?. I was thinking of a 85 or more lliter tank, what tanks were offered with these trucks, eventually I would like to also get a passenger side tank, and get it working aswell

You have 2 Choices (16 or 20 Gallon Tank) depending on your wheelbase. Short beds, as far as I know, used 16 gallon tank (43" Long), while 8 foot beds used 20 gallon tanks (56" Long). These tanks are readily available and inexpesnsive. The best part, some are still built in North America, no China made crap.

If it is a Long wheelbase you can use either the 16 or 20 tanks, On a short wheel base you can ONLY use the 16 gal tanks.

I have a LWB, and I know I will fit a 20 gallon under there.....however I was wondering if the bracket stay in the same location, or if they moved?. What is the differerence between the two tanks? is it just length or is it more?
