Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
I put up a listing in the parts classified looking for one and got great help, ideas and pictures on where/what/when to look for but have not been able to find any. called multiple vendors and parts stores but all I can find are the rods if your using the edelbrock performer intake. my only other option is I found a company that makes an electric replacment has anyone used/using this? my q-jet is on a 72 400 BB.
I've read multiple subjects on this from past topics and still can't seem to find them. any and all help is much apreceated.

Re: Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
You might look on ebay for big block carbs and email the seller and ask about the choke. That is if you're not in a big hurry. Those parts get chunked and misplaced very easy since they are not permanently attatched to the carb.

Re: Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
My suggestion would be to make your own rod using steel rod of the right diameter.
Electric chokes work very well on the later stock Q-jets so I would assume a conversion choke would work well also. Jim

Re: Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
Head to your helpful local hardware store (a real, old-school hardware store!) and buy a rod and bend it up.

Re: Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
I used a metal coat hanger to make one time. It worked.
It's worth a try, even just to practice until you get some metal rod. good luck.

Re: Need Help With Divorced Choke Rod
Thanks for the advice all, I don't think I want to try to build one myself. I think I am going to try the Electric choke conversion since the Edelbrock I have on it now already has an electric choke on it. the wire should just plug right in. when I get it on and installed I will let you guys know how it works.
