Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
Go get a Flitz ball or Mothers Power ball. it will have those wheels so shiny you can see yourself in them in under 10 minutes.
I am not normally one to push products on anyone, but ... that Mothers power ball is freaking amazing. Some guys here have posted before and after shots if you really wanted to see, but I can tell you - no BS - you will be amazed.

Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
Try not getting them dirty I have a set of wheels that are identical to yours. I almost threw them in the trash until I used Mother's Power Liquid Metal and a Power ball. I recently placed 2 new 15x10's with P325/50R15 on the rear. I think the old ones are shinnier than the new ones. My wheels were bought in the mid 80's and looked every bit as bad as yours.

If you getting the mothers power ball go to wally world instead of the auto parts store, when i bought mine it was a lot less expensive there.

Flitz is the same concept, they advertise on the "Power Block" on Spike TV (the hot rod shows).

Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
For best results, use Simichrome and a buffing bonnet at the end of a drill. Flitz and Mothers are more of a gimick I feel because of their advertising. Simichrome is one of those products hat you never hear about because only the enthusiasts know about it.
It's expensive, but it gets the job done better than anything else out there...

Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
Thats' what I was wondering too. If those are clearcoted and the dull look is caused by aging you have another problem to deal with...

Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
Removing clearcoat is basically removing paint. Thank you, but I will stick to using my California Customs Purple for my aluminum wheels.

Re: How Best To Clean Alum Rims????
mine looked like that and I tried a few things with no luck I took mine and had them professionally polished that removed the ridges and other inprofections (sp?) anyway they are now easy to keep clean but Randy I did just order some of that purple stuff and some wax should be here tomorrow and I plan on cleaning them up again with the good stuff.
