Question about SWB from LWB
For the frame, ive heard its better to do an angle cut from some people and a step cut from others, what is better and why?
i know there are faq's but i really didnt see this answered there |

I believe the preference is like a Z . (. a step top and bottom with an angle between) I have also heard not to plate over that area because frames need to flex.

On the show Trucks! I believe they did a Z cut on the '65 they did.

Do a Z cut and yes, plate over it- it would be unsafe otherwise.

Take a look in the FAQ forum here. There is an awesome article on how to do this. Yes, a Z cut will give you more weld area, and less chance of cracking
