First Stupid question... Suspension Swapping

I'm probably going to go do it anyway, because it's a good deal and I could sell them off if they don't fit but.... a guy's selling Belltech springs (2"/4" drop) and Nitro shocks for a '69-'72 and I gotta think they'll fit my '64 just fine, right?

Just got back from a 60mile r/t to get a bed for one of my kids, and ohhh man, that truck needs shocks, the thing bounces like crazy. Killing two birds w/one stone (dropping the ride height plus new shocks) would be awesome.

Sooooo... Will they fit?

one issue you might have though is that your springs are most likely 2 1/4" wide, and the newer (73 & up) springs are 2 1/2" wide. A flip kit for the
'73 and newer may work, but I just thought I'd mention about the springs....something to check.

Re: First Stupid question... Suspension Swapping

Will do. Plus I have to get the camera out before y'all lynch me.

Oh wait, wasn't the quote you posted regarding '73 and up being different? The springs and shocks I got were from a guy with a '69.

Also, looking at how corroded the bolts are on this thing, I might be just taking it to a shop for install, because I don't have a plasma cutter (oh I wish). I like getting my hands dirty, and making up new cuss-words as much as the next guy, but spending a bit of cash to have someone else make up said words is worth a bit.

Re: First Stupid question... Suspension Swapping

I just put new srpings and shocks in my 65. They were replacements that I picked up from Autozone, so it rides pretty high.

My bolts were rusted really bad, and covered in road crap. I just pressure washed them to get the road crap off, then sprayed them with liquid wrench. I used a helluva breaker bar and broke 3 bolts. OH WELL. A few buck to get all new bolts and its done. Saved me more than having a shop do it.

Re: First Stupid question... Suspension Swapping

The springs are the same 63-72. As for the shocks, I'm not sure...
