Re: ;ookin for a pic

I have a couple below I took at a car show to get idea's on putting one on my truck.

This one appears to be somewhat factory;

This one looks like some kind of aftermarket add-on.

My boss has a full glass cowl hood on his 87 but it's all open with no way to make the cowl functional without re-designing the whole bottom side.

Re: Lookin for a pic

i have an idea if you want to go custom. chevelle in the 70-72 made a fuctional cowl hood that actually closed at low speed and when you stomped on it a door would open so it could draw in more cold air when it was needed.

I can take a picture of my chevelles cowl hood so you know what i mean. never thought about modding the hoods cowl area to the truck but it sounds like fun.

Re: Lookin for a pic

i awas thinkin about goin with the chevelle cowl hood idea, or with a transam shaker hood. the chevell would cost too much for me to buy the hood just to cut it up for the cowl. and i came to the conclusion that the shaker hood wouldnt look good on our style of trucks

Re: Lookin for a pic

up here that stuff goes for a premium, and there hasnt been a 70-72 in the junkyards for about 10 years now. id have to get a brand new hood to cut. trust me, it would look bad ass, but when a cowl hood is only 279.00 i couldnt justify it right now
