Yea..Another "Getting Started" Post
First off I just want to say thanks to everyone on this board, Even before I registered Ive been getting information off of here and its all helped me through a majority of my questions (I love that damn search button)....But anyway, I just wanted to get a few opinions on what I should look into buying next, I really have no sense of direction considering this is my first real build. I already have Drop spindles, Slotted/Drilled Rotors, ART Strong arms and Slam bags..The install will begin when it all gets here..Really not intrested in a PB Dropmember right now..I dont think im that talented to do that kind of install by myself..Maybe wheel and tire combos?..Address engine problems?..I guess the answer im looking for is that it dosnt matter where I go from here...Or does it?...My full plan of action is a body drop on 20/22s with the inline 6 for the rat rod kinda thing, nothing more..Should I just get this thing to my liking then send it to the shop? Or just go with the shop work first THEN start?..I cant weld thats why a shop would be involved.

Re: Yea..Another "Getting Started" Post
What are you looking for as far as an "end result"? When you say "body drop" are you wanting to lay body?
And on the Dropmember... I know it's not for everybody, but it's a pretty straight forward install. The only "hard part" is welding the rack and pinion notch in the frame.

Re: Yea..Another "Getting Started" Post
Im not looking to build a show truck by any means, No frame off resto either..I guess more of a Bag and drag type deal..With a few mods and upgrades along the way..And yes, im pressed on the "Body drop"..Laying rockers would be enough I guess..As far as the Dropmember goes, I wish I was that confident. Welding and moving engine mounts around are out of my talent category, Which really means I cant do much of anything.. Id definitely have to have someone else do the install tho..Then id probably be lookin at over $2500 or something ridiculous, Just to have the front lay out an extra few inches. But I do hail to you Sir for the product you offer and the superior feedback it gets.

That kind of thing really chaps my a$$. Why can't these companies just be up front with you on the phone and let you know that they are on backorder? Rediculous.

Re: Yea..Another "Getting Started" Post
So you are wanting to lay rocker with bolt-ons? Is there even a large enough bolt-on notch that would allow you to lay rocker?

I thought the same thing when I read this. I'll tell you why these companies do this. They don't want to lose the sale, so they ship you what they have. I own my own company and I always tell the customer what is on backorder before I ship. I would be pissed if I got that ART box with that "note" inside.

Bagged- I dont think its possible to lay em' with bolt ons..Or is it?..Everybodys ive seen on here is either bodydropped,Z'ed or just photochopped
And about the backorder..I guess its kind of my fault in a way maybe..I didnt order directly from ART, I went through Suicide since my accounts already setup through them..Im sure they dont know what the hell ART has and dosnt have half the time..They said nothing about it being backordered on the phone..Regaurdless though, Someones gonna be getting an annoying phone call once a week |

I would be fine w/receiving 'naked' arms & sourcing my own stock bushings & re-using my original cross-shafts to save money*...... but then again, I'm a cheap f**ker. *60's ~ 72 guys would need the later style a-arm shafts & wouldn't be able to re-use theirs.

The only snag I had was that I had odrered my strong arms direct from ART and had accidentally recieved two passenger side control arms. see below Quote:
