I know what you mean. I have done things to my trucks in the past that made them cool, but not very useable. I mainly drive this one, but do use it on occasion for the trips to Lowes, etc., so i need to be able to drop the tailgate from time to time.

Yesterday I discovered that I can loosen the top bolts and drop the bumper down enough to clear my tailgate so that I can use it as a truck when I need to. I need to use this truck tomorrow to return my buddy's power washer that I borrowed this week. Think I'll just loosen it long enough to return that and then push it back up and tighten it back down.

I don't plan to haul too much else for a while after tomorrow anyway. I just hope that I don't forget and get in a hurry one day and open my gate without dropping my bumper out of the way!

I think that later on I'll just buy the inner supports that I need and see where the outers end up. Hopefully it will be close enough that I can just drill some holes through to the outers to make it all work. If not, I'll just have to buy both. Thanks for the responses guys. It's much appreciated. ...Joe
