New Guy from Shawnee, KS Saying HELLO!!

Well I took the plunge this Saturday and entered the realm of 67-72 Chev/GMC's!! I have been a closet admirer of these trucks for many many years. It got much worse after my brother (whose also a member here) bought and is restoring a '70 K5 Blazer.

I have been restoring motorcycles for years, but lately with a new child, I have wanted to have the opportunity to take my wife and son out with me. So, I decided to sell the bike and buy a truck. And what a truck I found!!!!

First off, let me say THANK YOU to another member here "drew-67". I purchased a truck that he had listed on here and it was by far one of the smoothest transactions I have EVER undergone! Thanks Andrew for being honest and considerate. Member of the year material here!

So after getting my new baby home, I sifted through the paperwork from the original owner. Quite interesting...... even had two build sheets, protectoplate and the warranty info!!!
It's a 1969 Chevrolet swb stepside, 350 LS9, 4 bbl, M20 4 speed, 3.07 rearend, side mounted spare, pushbutton am, rear step bumper, engine heater and that is basically it! White over light green with green interior.

It was built on 1-22-69 and driven off the lot on 2-7-69. It was built in Fremont and routed through Salt Lake to it's final location in Buffalo, Wyoming. The dealership taking delivery was Joe Felix Chevrolet of Buffalo, WY. Looks like the gentleman who bought it actually ordered the truck like it was delivered.

As for the truck, it is absolutely cherry for it's age. Little light surface rust under the original rubber floor mat and where rocks chipped the paint back in the days, but NO rust through and as dry as a Wyoming bone.

Since I have rambled on here, I hope you know that I can't be any happier with my truck. I kicked my car outside and now my truck resides in a nice comfy heated garage. Plans are to keep it completely stock with only lowering 3 in the front and 4-5 in the back, replacing the wheels and tires with some bone stock rims, dogdishes, and bias plies, and drive it. There is no rush to paint because the original paint is mostly intact...... just needs a claybar treatment. The interior is all there and it's been taken very well taken care of by it's prior owners.

Like I said, this is my first 67-72 Chevy, so I will have a BUNCH of questions for you experts, and I thank you in advance for the help!!!

Here's a few pics after I drove her home Sunday morning. I'll be getting my moolah out to help support this wonderful site in a few days......
