Fuel tank sending unit

what is the method of determing if my fuel tank sending unit is bad. when i start the car, the gauge pops up but goes to E only. I know I have more gas in the tank. Thanks.

What you want to do is ground wite that is attached to the post terminal on the sending unit....if the guage rises, then your circuit is ok, and the problem is the sending unit itself.

ok.. i think the circuit is ok then, cuz the gauge rises but only to E all the time

yah, maybe thats what it is Vic...Im going to just swap out my sending unit cause I have the right guague for the truck but when the tank is full the needle only goes right before halfway. all the grounds and wires are good too.
