fabricating tube a-arms
I've been doing some research on bagging my 63 and I was looking at the tubular upper a-arms as part of it. I'm curious, has anyone here fabricated their own? Is there any reason why you couldn't make a set with some steel tubing, metal plate, a chop saw, and a mig welder? Don't get me wrong, it would obviously have to be built strong to withstand all the stress but aside from that is there anything else? I would basically take the stock upper off and use it's shape as a template to get my angles correct as far as that goes too.

Re: fabricating tube a-arms
This guy has done it, the pics disappeared but I had saved a couple of them to my flash drive.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=192228 I've also thought of ordering some from a racing supply place and changing out the cross shaft... but I've never done it. The prices on the arms from these places are great... http://www.joesracing.com/catalog/20...ng_Catalog.pdf Good luck, Rg

what do you do about the lower cross shaft? I am running the Dropmember and I am thinking about getting a set made.

Re: fabricating tube a-arms
I have some tube lowers for $150 you just need to make your own crosshafts and get bushings. Used them on the new arms we built. PM ME
