Now that I have my shiny new gas tank, I was wondering if there was any info available on how to go about installing it??

What tank are you using.There should be a complete write up on any that the members have done.Try a search in the FAQ's for lots of info.

Vent tube is on the other side. The filler neck over flow returns, I just capped them off.

so do you have anything attached to the vent tube(extension or something)? or is it just open?

It is a SS radiartor hose. Ebay has them pretty cheap. It came with about 3 different sets of adaptors. The only rubber pieces are the two connectors that are on the outside.

Just a hose that runs overboard and under the truck for over flow.

westbrookW, how do you like the fiberglass fenders?

Bought them before anyone started making steel ones. Would rather have steel for the weight, but they are pretty sturdy for fiberglass. Need to get longer bed to fender screws bc they are thick. Other than that we will see if they ever need replaced. Just worried about throwing rocks through one. A lot of undercoating is for sure going to happen.

anybody else mount the opening on the back of a stepside fender, is there any fuel door that will fit in this space?

What do you mean? If you have a "regular" burb or blazer tank (stock style), it needs to be mounted below the frame with straps. The flange was not designed to hold the weight of 21 gallons of fuel. It will eventually crack and fail. If you have a fuel cell that has a strong flange, then it's all good.

People have asked that question before and the majority concensus is that it is unsafe to do that.
