someone mentioned that you could run rear coils out of a chevelle, monte carlo, or elcamino. so heres my question
is this in fact true?
how much drop does this provided?
and does anyone know off hand how tall the stock spring is? i know my truck has been droped in the front, but i think its stock in the back and id like to level it out

Yes you can run a/g/b body coils in the rear of 6X~72's. The drop depends on how much sag each of the springs have compared to each other. For reference, I swapped a set onto my truck years ago (the trucks springs were 20yrs old @ that point) & thought I would get 2~3" of drop. It didn't drop the truck @ all. It did however lessen the cargo capacity. I found that out the first time I moved some hay for my mom's horses.

Don't know if this helps, it's not a 67-72, it's a 63. But I put Chevelle springs on mine and got about 4-5" of drop. The front, I cut 2 coils, and it sits about 2" higher in the rear than the front. The Chevelle springs are a lot smaller gauge steel than the stock 63 springs. I never haul anything in it, so I can't say about cargo capacity.

I put some springs out of a Delta 88 in the rear of my 71 and it raised it, a bunch!

Yeah, that Delta 88 is a lot heavier in the rear than the empty truck so it takes more spring for it.

The one's I used were out of a 79 elcamino & it raised mine about 1.5 ~ 2".

i have a 68 chevelle with ebach lowering springs and the seem kinda soft, they may be too soft if your going to do any hauling.
