4/6 drop

hey every I am new to the 67-72 chevy truck stuff so bare with me. i have a 72 chevy that i am going to be running a big block in. i want to go pretty low and possably run some 20s or 22s. I was looking at the ece 4/6 drop but with the combination for a big block it will be a 3.5/6 drop. I am trying to do this the cheap way and have been to car shows and noticed that the ones i see that are dropped never bought the track bar kit or the shock relocators. can i do the same or should i definently buy that stuff to. they have a kit to make it a 3.5 or 4.5 in the front with a big block. what should i do. if i do the 3.5 drop will the front end sit higher then the back let me know thanks

Re: 4/6 drop

Yes, you need to buy the track bar kit if you are going lower then probably 5 inches in the rear.

You can cut one coil off your front springs and get 2 inches. Get a set of 2 1/2 inch drop spindles and you'll get your 4.5. You should be able to get all of it done for around $500 on the cheap.

I don't think the big block will matter, but I could be wrong. If so just do the spindles and set it down and see what it looks like.

Re: 4/6 drop

Don't skimp on the suspension items as you'll eventually hate to even ride in the truck, and eventually have to spend the money for new parts.

Stick with the kit, and you won't have to look back!

Good luck!
