Hell ya its worth it!!!! You never see those anymore, and it seems to be all original. I would drive up and buy it, and I live in Texas. Very rare....

Re: Anybody see this blazer camper? whats it worth?
Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone have any ideas of what this would be worth? I really don't want to bid up to $5,000.00 then find out it's only worth 3. Of course KBB is no help... Thanks

Re: Anybody see this blazer camper? whats it worth?
Its worth what you want to pay for it. The key is not the Truck side of things as you can get all the parts you want. It's the camper side, you would like all the stuff to be there and work if you plan on using it like a camper. They don't make those parts anymore so replacement parts are going to have to be found and made to fit.
If it's complete/working order expect to pay more. Check out some of the ebay auctions on past Chalets from the other thread for what the going rate is.

Re: Anybody see this blazer camper? whats it worth?
Tony Txsquarebodies - I was about to add this Austin craigslist one to the other thread, but since you are in that area (big as it is), I'll put it here: http://austin.craigslist.org/car/468045794.html Text here in case the link expires quick like they usually do, and photo below:
1976 Blazer Chalet. 4 Wheel Drive, 350 motor, 3 A/Cs. $1600 Cash. (936) 414-9528, ask for Tommy.Ar15defense - In the blazerchalet.com web site, those guys mentioned that an original in good shape was in the range of $4000 to $5000. I'd agree, mine (see http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...61#post2064561 ) was $3900 but it needed new tires plus a complete refurbishment of the 4x4 drivetrain, and various other replacement parts - $2300 worth altogether, when labor for the 4x4 work is included. Simple math says I'd need $6200 for mine just to break even. For me, the primo items in my favor if I was to sell it, is that it doesn't need repainting or a new interior, and that's where I'd be negotiating with a buyer to see how much he is saving himself by not buying a cheaper one that does need those big ticket items. Now, if we are lucky, us Chalet owners can gather a bit more publicity around these and maybe punch up the worth of really good originals or exceptional restorations. There were only 225 of the GMC Jimmy Casa Grande versions made for both years, so you could argue that those are as rare as Yenko Camaros. 1555 Blazer Chalets were made for '76 & '77. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for some crazed collector to throw $50 grand in my face any time soon, though..... The one in Madison sure looks good, and if there's no major rust to be seen despite being an 'eastern' vehicle, it could compare to mine for value or more - mine still needs more repairs to be a daily driver. The Austin one has non-original paint and odd alterations to the back for A/C, so the collector value could be wrecked. But if it is a rust-free 'western' truck, there could be value just in that point alone, making it quite a bargain if you want to put it back to original and not spend more than $7 grand.

Re: Anybody see this blazer camper? whats it worth?
Thanks on the tip 77blazerchalet..... Not a bad price on it, but if I was to buy one, it would need to be as close as original if possible and needing some restoration. I need to sell some more square bodies before I go looking for more.

Tony,
No problem. If you want to keep a closer eye on what's avilable, please join our owners' forum, it's for future owners & enthusiasts as well, and I try to keep our Database section updated with these internet ads as ofen as possible. As for the Madison one, I guess it was worth exactly $3250 to the winning bidder today.
