Re: old question?

Yes it can, I have seen two or three theads about this. Most of the time you get a 2wd truck front end and change it out with the 4wd in the blazer.

Let me see if I can find the thead for you.

This guy chevyrod has one that was 4wd and now is 2wd, but I think he got it that way from the last owner. but you my try him.

Re: old question?

Yes, it can be done. I have seen one that started life as a 4wd, was converted to a 2wd, then back to a 4wd. It does require drilling a few holes, etc. but no major surgery.

As tvblazer78 said there have been a few discussed on here. One in particular was in the 73-87 truck forum where a member swapped a Blazer and truck suspension. Unfortunately, I can't think of his screen name right now.

Re: old question?

Latest issue of sporttruck magazine covers this topic well.

Re: old question?

There was a big thread over a year ago where a guy posted in good detail the swap from 4wd to 2wd & 2wd to 4wd. He swapped both front ends out to make a 4x4 truck and a 2wd blazer. I don't remember his screen name either, but a search should bring it up.

And I think he got them both done in no time at all working evenings and weekends. Sure looks nice now.
