Power Brake Conversion Questions!
I want to convert my 68 C-10 to power brakes. Do i just need to install a power booster? What else is required?

Master cylinder should be different, There is also a bracket that the booster uses to mount to the firewall. There is a pivot system that the brake rod uses to go to the power booster. Also the rod that attaches to your brake peddle must be changed.

find parts truck and remove entire booster with the cage that bolts to back of it and to firewall and the channel and rod style braces and thepedal rod(will stay on the booster if you remove the rod at the pedal under dash)
master cylinder casting is not same form power to standard brakes. put them side by side and look at the mounting flange area and you iwll see why, the piston in there is set in deeper on manual cylinders ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL randy@ccaonline.com 2177353230 *many GM parts bought, traded, or sold -am parting out: '81 Cutlass Supreme and 84 SE Firebird T5 3.73 current fleet: -71 C-10 350/CH465/3.07- assembling currently -90 Cavalier/2.2/sky blue, driver #2 -84 Z28 5.0L/700R4/3.73 daily driver #1 -'90 Corsica 3.1L and '82 purple Trans Am- storing *Paint is overrated* © RSS Enterprises 2000 |

I have a couple of them also that I would sell. Complete from the brake pedal to the master cylinder. Located in Minnesota by the way.
