Did any 73-87's come stock w/ M20
Because in my Chevy Duty magazine it has floor shifter boots for them like they came stock.
Just curious.

Nope, never.
The only muncie's they got were the sm465. Lots of cars got them just waiting to be swapped in though!

I have READ that they came on some trucks, but not very many.
I have not seen one, though. -- Mike

I think they stoped M20 production in the late 60's. After that it was the close ratio M21. At least every car I ever hear of having a muncie stock from that period is a M21, I could be wrong. Where the heck is captkaos when we need him? O yeah, joy riding in his new vette

I just found it odd. I never heard of one coming stock, but thats how that magazine makes it sound (atleast to me).

4 speeds that were actual M20, 21, 22 never came in pickups. They were made from 64 to 74 when GM made the T10's The SM420 or SM465, (if I remember correctly) came under the M20 option code. You can correct me the quickest Tom, if you have your option sheet.
Muncie M21's were external rail shifted, SM's were internal rail shifted, what is yours Myride? Truck transmissions used a low gears first for all the manuals.

Here is some pics for visual references. BTW, the SM465 weighs a TON and is cast, the Muncie is light and made of aluminum.
