Mirrors......
AS silly as this seems, mirrors are about as important as wheels and tires for the right look.
Guys post your pic's so I can decide what mirrors I'm going to go with. The PO of the Burb has some BUTT ugly things on it that have to come off... |

Re: Mirrors......
I was thinking something like an old set of Hot Rod mirrors off an old merc or something different. But not sure that they would be big enough. I know I can always go stock. I was looking for something that wasn't stock and something that might just be a touch out there.... Thanks for the comments on the burb.. Into the shop in a few weeks... Brakes, drops, couple of cab mounts and general TLC. Sad part is the interior is 100% 1961...untouched..so I have plenty to do.... this was E-bay... believe it or not... shows 42999 on the speedo...
So being a skeptic.. I did a title search on it and guess what..... it's only got 42999 on it.... Feel like I should be wearing a patch over one eye for what I paid for it... Truck + shipping to Louisville from Idaho... $4200.00 Yeah I'm smiling here...... |

Re: Mirrors......
Frizzle,
I'm assuming that the silver Burb is yours? It's a beauty... I see that your windows are stationary.. Mine are sliders, I'm trying to find seals for the sliders.... I bought a set off of Harmons but not sure that they will work... they just don't look right... If you can tell me where you got yours... I'll have something to compare mine too.... Thanks... |

Re: Mirrors......
Nice 'burb...........I found mine on ebay also.....happened to be on the west side of Phoenix and I drove it home to the east side....Ive been cleaning it up and fixing things...you know how it is. I just finished with my glass in the back.....I converted my truck to fixed glass from sliders. You can get the correct seals from Brothers and a couple other places......half of the gasket should look thick for the fixed section and the other half different. Not a good explanation, but if you look closely you will see what Im talking about. Unless you are willing to give up your first born I would do the glass yourself; "glass" guys cant do it unless the gasket comes in a caulk tube!!!

Re: Mirrors......
I love these pic's... there so cool. I have to say if I have to pick two right now that I would not change a bit....
1) Frizzlefry's pickup in the garage (something about that just works for me...) just leave it the way it is that is a bad ass looking truck... 2) Hillbillydeluxe I don't know if that is a professional photog that took that shot but definately a calander shot. Leave it just the way it is with the primered patches... it has a great personality... OK guys keep this up it's fantastic...... Any Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you all.... |
