WTB - console insert

Hi, looking for a center console insert (not sure what they are oficially called). Either one will work (the ones they used on 67-72's with the ash tray, or the later style with the two cup holders). Shipping would be to 55448. Thanks!

Re: WTB - console insert

Is this what you need. This is some that I had cut by a water jet machine out of 18 gage polished stainless steel and then had them sent off to be repolished to a mirror finish. 35.00 shipped. LMC sells them for 39.99 plus shipping and they are no where near the quality of these.

PT

No, I need the plastic part under that...the insert assembly itself. I have a cup holder version and it has a broken piece missing out of the middle of it.

Re: WTB - console insert

I sure wish someone/company would make those new. There are a lot of broken ones around and some of us would also like to convert belt holders to cup holders.
PT: maybe you could design/build a metal insert for cups?

Re: WTB - console insert

I have allready looked into repoping the originals out of hard plastic with the same grain as the originals. The company I talked to wanted a fortune for the set up fee and a minimum run of 5000. I would have had to hit the lotto for what they wanted. Here is the drawing, yall run with it if you have an a-- of cash.

Re: WTB - console insert

Hey Pt are there console parts available? I just picked up a console from a 70(i think) and the whole top part that screws to the bottom is toast. The lid appears to ok.

Re: WTB - console insert

Everything that I have is being used, sometimes I have to take two or three to make one good one and the middle section that you are refering to is mostly what is trashed.
I would just keep an eye out on ebay or the board and try and find one cheap to make one good one.
You have to buy carefully when you buy these consoles.

Re: WTB - console insert

On the cupholder type that area is removable. On the belt type it is part of the upper half tub of the console.

Re: WTB - console insert

I have seen people cut the seat belt part out and leave enough lip to screw down the cut holder section.
