Transmission crossmenber
Im trying to put a automatic trans. on a frame that had a manual trans. Do I need to take out the manual crossmember, or can it be used? Is there a bolt on crossmember from another vehicle that will work? thanks

Re: Transmission crossmenber
What year is your truck? If it is a 63-66 then you can use an automatic crossmember from those years in it. You will need to take out the manual crossmember. Both of them. There should also be holes in your frame for it also.

Re: Transmission crossmenber
I see the holes in frame about a foot back from the manual member that must be where to bolt it to,can I reuse the manual crossmember ?will this alignment allow for a turbo350,or 700r trans?

Re: Transmission crossmenber
Which are you talking about. The one that bolts up to the bell housing will have to be removed and the one that holds the parking brake cable is just that, something to hold the parking brake cables. I have heard of some guys using it but don't know how strong it is or if it will hold up. Might be just fine but you never know..
