Anyone using a Tuffy Console

I picked up a set of original bucket seats for my truck and the console is shot. I was thinking of getting a Tuffy Console, they are a little more durable plus you can mount a stereo and lock it. Anyone with pics would help.
Thanks
Ron

Re: Anyone using a Tuffy Console

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, if I can afford one (at ~$250 they're kinda pricey). Can't decide whether to go with an 8-inch or 10-inch width.

Here's an example, courtesy of the folks at coloradoK5, of an installation in a chopped-for-rock-crawling 1990 Blazer project vehicle: http://www.coloradok5.com/tuffy.shtml

Anyone installed one in a '69-72?

Re: Anyone using a Tuffy Console

yeah i've got one. i like it. bought it off ebay for less than $200, it was in great shape. not sure if they're worth the price tag new but nice to find used if possible.

here is a pic of mine.

here is another thread about tuffy consoles also
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...ighlight=tuffy

i think bouncytruck mentioned once that the cd player may skip alot and eject motor burn out when mounted in the console because it's vertical mount. might be a moot point if you're using an ipod but it's worth mentioning.

EP what width is that?
I email www.4x4groupbuy.com/ about price on the 12.5" stereo security #017 the price I was quoted was $210 + shipping.
Not too bad, now I just have to save a bit.

nope...pretty much no room at all. the console fills in the entire space. the armrests from my seats are right up against it when they fold down.

Re: Anyone using a Tuffy Console

I have the series II between Mastercraft Rubicon seats and it fits alot of stuff to include my steering wheel. I take my steering wheel off when I take my kids to the movies. I would weld the seams before installing it, that is the only weak point. Ohh and the price
