Yup. Snag it if you can...no telling what kind of nifty parts might be lurking inside...

Re: chevy???
As Palf stated, the pic looks to be a 68 , because of the side-markers, so the parts should fit. 67 and 68 Chevy fenders will fit 67-72 GMC. 69-72 Chevy will only fit if you use the complete front clip, because of differences in the hood and radiator support.
Anybody, if I wrong on any of this, please correct me. Lots of patina there.

Re: chevy???
If it was sitting in my back yard, and my daily driver was wrecked; those parts would have already been on my truck.

Re: chevy???
It will work, but won't have the GMC grill marker light cutouts. Your front marker lights be be covered up just a hair, but should work.

Re: chevy???
Swap the whole front clip. You'll be happier in the long run.

Re: chevy???
x2 --- swap the whole thing -- your Uncle will probably not even notice judging by the looks of it The 67 and 68 Chevy front end is most people's unanimous favorite anyway- at the very least, you'll have a core support, replacement bumpers and hood are attainable and reasonably cheap, even on your DG salary level, if the sheetmetal there is not all good (not me - i actually like the frog-eyed GMC's- but people tell me i'm weird all the time too)

Re: chevy???
I think I may need to treat my uncle a lot nicer.

Re: chevy???
I wish I had an Old Uncle with a '68 Chevy, he just has a '65 GTO with a 421 dual quad.
Oh well>

Re: chevy???
You will probably have to be REAL nice to him. It looks like hes VERY proud of it. Just tell him you are doing him a favor but getting it out of YOUR back yard....

Re: chevy???
The truck has been wrecked, the top has been crushed into cab from the wreck. The wreck was back in the 80's.

Re: chevy???
Wind your way through the weeds, get inside to the glovebox, open the door and see what it had. And take a bunch more pictures.
And be VERY nice to your Uncle!! |
