I'm not sure about U-bolts, but I just replaced my carrier bearing a couple of months ago with one from Oreillys (National Bearing) I believe. Great fit and works as designed.

Re: u joints and carrier bearing ?

For the best, all I can recommend is to look for American Made. Most bearing manufactures have moved their facilities to China. If you can't find American Made then just go for one of the big company names. Unfortunately a lot of the parts for our old trucks are not available in original quality. From my experience Timken has always made one heck of a bearing. CR Has done ok but isn't as good as Timken on seals.

Re: u joints and carrier bearing ?

Any more suggestions? I looked at the NAPA site but it does not list the manufacturer.

Re: u joints and carrier bearing ?

U-joints -> Precision Super Strength part # 280 Made in the U.S.

Carrier Bearing -> Federal Mogul part # HB-88107-A Made in Mexico

I think you can get the bearing with or without the casing. This one listed has the outer casing (for newer trucks).

Spicer, or Neapco from a driveline shop. Some of the chain stores will carry Neapco joints, but they are NOT the same quality as ones from a driveline shop; it's their way of protecting their licensed distributors while still making money off the chain stores .
