Anybody know if I can install a 402 bigblock with 400 tranny on a pickup with low hump or will I need to cut low hump and use a high hump tunnel. I have crawled under and seems like there is plenty of clearance, so why the big block high hump?

My white '67 has a 454/th400 with a low hump. As far as I know it has stock cab mounts under it.

Ive got a 350 w/ 400 turbo and low hump....no clearance issue.

Do all factory big blocks have high humps? Does your interior get hot in summer time?

I have seen a 69 CST with factory BB, bucket seats and factory air shocks per the SPID w/th400 that was a low hump truck- but it was a lwb. Parted out a 72 lwb w/402 that was a low hump cab as well. Both were very original trucks and definitely factory bb trucks, so it ,at least from what I have seen, could and did happen from the factory. My 71 Super is a high hump bb truck with th400 and buckets so I am not positive, but there is room without the high hump.

I can't answer the first question. As far as the heat, it doesn't get any hotter inside than my '36 Ford street rod or the '39. Just open the windows and vents and ... Cruise.....
