72 Jimmy fuel line sizes
Getting ready to order all new fuel lines for '72 Jimmy, 4x4, 350, orig. quadrajet, auto trans, a/c. Didn't know there are 2 different supply line sizes. Is this a 6cyl vs 8 cyl thing or carb size? My supply side line looks like 5/16 i.d.? Anyone know for sure what I should order , 5/16 or 3/8? All the returns sizes seem to be 1/4''

Re: 72 Jimmy fuel line sizes
Yes, V8 trucks came with 3/8, and 6 cylinders with 5/16. Just use 3/8 - don't even screw around with the 5/16 tubing. I can't even begin to imagine why they screwed around with 2 different sizes of tubing at the factory. Stuff like this is why the US automakers were not competitive going into the late '70s and '80s.

Jaroa44sr, that was my thought. By the way that other jimmy rsd support was junk.
Blazer70, thanks for the info. makes sense. |

Hey, sorry we didn't get meetup on Sat, Just to many problems to solve in one day. Maybe next time.
What if you go with 1/2" tubing?
