Front Coil Springs
Hey All,
Question - Do front coil springs from '73 up fit the 67-72 1/2T 2 wheel drive trucks? Reason I'm asking is I want to lift the front of my 67 stepside about 2"-3" and can only find springs for the '73 up models. |

First off, you can get about 1 1/2 maybe 2 inches max before you reach the limit of the ball joint. It will be at it's max angle. I have seen some ball joint spacers but don't know if they really work right. The only other way is to swap out your upper a-arms for ones that place the ball joint at the proper angle. I have seen that AIM has them but you will have to use 73 and up control arm shaft kits with rubber bushings.

73-87 should fit, no prob. spring rates did not vary much at all. you don't have to get a longer spring, but you can you heavy duty springs, ie big block springs if you are running a small block. this will stiffen the fronts up and give you some additional height. since the spring rate is higher, it will ride a little stiffer too.

slam33,
So do the 73-up control arm shafts fit my 67 with no mods? |
