another..decode this rear end...
tried the search feature but no luck ,its a five lug with 3.07 gears,i need to build all the brakes and want to make sure i get the right parts,the numbers stamped on axle tube are THAW179 1 ....hope these are the right numbers..thanks

Check here under axle codes. You need to know the year but look under 1971. http://www.americanclassic.com/paint.htm You don't need to put the vin # in to look up the other stuff. I have the page in my Favorites. It comes in really handy. LockDoc

According to the THA code it is a '71 with 3.07's as you said.

I'm actually not sure yet. I could put a tranny back in it and use it as a junk hauler/parts runner, but that's yet another truck I'd have to tag and insure. There's a part of that hates to part it, but it has a lot of nice sheetmetal. It actually has rust free radiator support and pass side inner fender.
