The new shortbox, and some yard pictures
Well, the other day, 68350 dropped off one of the shortboxes they've got.
We put a cab off a 72 Longhorn from Malta, MT, from which I've got the title, owners manual, protecto plate, dealership inspection paper, and two yes I said TWO build sheets, of which I think is all the documentation on the truck (not everyday you score a truck with all that paper, still readable) The box is off a 1972 army truck they've had for a little while. Not the greatest of shape, but a good start. The frame is a 1967 frame, somebody before 68350 painted it and switched it to a 5 lug disc setup. 68350 put on one 69-72 radiator mount, I have the other one to do. Then there's the: 1983 Mustang GT "5.0" ~350 horse 351W 1969 Mustang coupe, momma's car now, not my project. hah. I don't have time or money for it, why should it be my problem? 1969 C-10, custom pickup box trailer used to be my 69, then I parted it out. Can't waste valuable metal, so I did what I could with it. 2008 Chevy halfton, dad's work truck 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport, family truck, rarely used 1997 Chevy, my daily driver/gold diggin money pit from a green paper hell. So far, it's at around 15 grand, including the 7 grand I paid for it. 2008 Hyundai Sonata (it's foreign, i dunno how to spell it) V6, heated leather, sunroof, manu-matic shifter thingy, all that goody crap. It's moms. Foreign car, don't give a crap. fun to drive though. 1972 C-10, factory toolbox, P/S, black interior, Medium Bronze, my backup truck everytime my 97 has a breakdown and steals my wallet. Those are the vehicles. The pics also include my piles of parts, including headliner, visors, my pile of patch panels, 69-70 buckets, 75 buckets, tollbox bedside, almost perfect GMC tailgait, and whatever the hell else is there. So, time for pictures. I have like 35 of them, so gimme some time to upload em all.

Re: The new shortbox, and some yard pictures
like that green cab? California truck. It was sold in Calif dealer, then brought to Montana. I don't think we ever figured out the whole story. Was a nice lookin well optioned truck though. Almost perfect cab, that's what I like. And the fact that it's almost perfect with air, headliner, cargo light, etc.
As for my Bright Blue Metallic Gold Digger (aka 1997 K1500) it's got a brand new T-case, almost brand new tranny, new dizzy, just put a new idler pulley, alternator, starter, fuel pump, and some misc other stuff since I got it a couple years ago. That deer skull I found last year while deer huntin. Second nice rack I've found, few years ago I found a perfect 5x5 skull. 300 horse 350/TH350, in my shed with buckets, headliner, visors, and a lot of patch panels. I don't want to know what people think when they drive by. Hah.

Re: The new shortbox, and some yard pictures
should be a TH400, being it was a big block truck. see, but also, I remember looking at some Turbo Hydramatic option lists, and seeing an asterick behind the word Hydramatic, which I thought indicated a TH400. I thought I had a pic of my 72's options sheet, but apparently I don't, or else I'd look.
On a second note, I just asked my buddy, and he said either. So the way I figure, M49 just means it has a Turbo Hydramatic transmission. Period. And using simple common knowledge, from factory, small blocks had 350's, and big blocks had 400's. Somebody correct me if anything I said was wrong, and about the asterick deal. And thanks, hah, I don't think its that big of a pile of parts, enough to do another truck, especially with my other 6 lug half ton frame and box I have at my buddys farm, but I don't think it's a big ENOUGH pile of parts could always use more. You should see 68350's garages. They've got more than I do, let's just put it at that. I don't buy and part out trucks like they do. I'm at three trucks, not counting that yellow cab or the frame/box I have, and have only parted one out, my 69 with few options. When it comes to 67-72's though, 68350 and his family are my idols.
