Instrument Cluster Lamps

Any ideas where to get a couple of the bulb holders that twist into the back of the Dash Instrument Cluster.....The ones that take the 194 bulbs......I'm missing 2 and I've checked locally with no luck. Not sure if any of the vendors here sell them or not. Hope I made this clear. Incredible what a few new bulbs do for the brightness of the dash. Now I can see how much over the speed limit I'm going at night. Also, was wondering why one of them on the back of my dash has a metal flange (for lack of a better term) protruding from it. Is this for a ground wire or something? Any help appreciated.

I like to use # 168 lamps in the instrumenbt cluster.. #168 are 3 CP vs. 194 @ 2.CP.. so the 168's are 1/3 brighter... leave the Hi-Beam indicator lamp with the original 194 lamp.....
The 168 lamps work fine in the side marker lamps also.......Jim

the white clip with the metal is for the fiber optic gear indicator on non-tilt auto trucks

Bear with me......I'm learnin'.......this is a 465 tranny, not auto. Then I assume there is really no need for this particular bulb holder. I don't need it for anything and could replace it with a lamp holder like the rest on the back of the dash. I'm confused. Geez, I didn't realize these old trucks would have any "fiber optic" type items. Sorry for my ignorance.

The best place to get those sockets is at a junkyard. Scoop up a handful while your there! LOL

These type sockets were used in GM cars of the same era too so you should have no trouble finding any.

Well, I finally found some locally. I appreciate everyones help/offers.

jostrans68 and greasemonkey,

Thanks, found them at another Autozone store.

Junkyardjohn,

Thanks for the offer. Damn good people on this site and you're one of them obviously, considering you don't know me from anyone.

Dash lights up like a christmas tree now.

Thanks everyone.
