Flywheel question when going from a 6 to 8
if I am going to still use the original 3 speed tranny, should i still use the I-6 flywheel or use the one on the 350?

I can't remember if you had a 10" or 11" clutch. If you have an 11" clutch your flywheel is the same as a truck with a small block and will take a 12" clutch. If you have a 10" clutch it will still work. That flywheel was used on lower hp small blocks. If you plan on replacing the clutch when you do the conversion I would probably try to get a flywheel that will take an 11"/12" clutch since you will be towing stuff.

I used the I6 flywheel & clutch when I did my swap just to save some money. I have since acquired a heavy-duty 11" clutch/flywheel and plan to put it in later when I can also change the tranny to an overdrive.
