Can I Get Some Cab Info ?
I have tried the search feature off and on all week and found no answers
I'm in the middle of my 74 body off project of 7yrs., The more I look at this cab the more I want to see if I can find one in better shape (save some work and git-r-done). I have already purchased a new COMPLETE front clip and doors. My questions are; What was the cut-off date for the change in cabs ? Also, If I only found the next gen. cab (with the hood hinges on the cab) would my 74 clip and doors work on it ? I'm not worried about the hood hinges if that's the only difference, I've already built a reverse opening hood using a Buick Park Av. assembly. Thanks for any help you guys/gals can throw my direction....

Re: Can I Get Some Cab Info ?
cabs are the same 73-80 and 81-87
you can use the newer cab on an older truck but youll need to remove the wiper cowl and wiper linkage you will need to use the mounts off of the older truck ( bushings and all) you will need to swap out the harness and the dash pad the rest of your parts into it if you were to do the original type of hood hinge it would work but the hinges from the newer style truck are in the cowl too so you would see the holes if memory is right... the hinges on the fender will work ok
