Post Tonneau Cover questions and reviews

Let me start by saying that I know this has been covered but the internet here at school sucks and while I can access the search feature and see the topics I cannot view the threads....... Anywho

From earlier posts I had been looking at a long step for my truck. Well I might be able to make that work but I have got to face reality. I am in college and have no money. The bed is nice but needs some welding and a wood kit plus body, prep, and paint all of which I can handle. However, I do not have TIME. I know I should have plenty of time and no money but not me. My dad is not helping he really likes the idea of a step side and a long step side is something you don't see too much on these trucks. But with the wagon we are restoring, maintaining the other daily drivers, and being away from home 9 months out of the year and working as much as possible when not here I just don't think taking on a bed is going to work right now.

So I think a soft Tonneau Cover on my fleet and we will call it good for now. So now for my questions......
The only Tonneau Cover i have seen on one of our trucks was a custom soft one on a 79. I don't really need pictures but if you want to share feel free!

1. In your opinion which company offers the best fit for our bed design?
2. My friend likes Extang and I have heard good things and saw there was a thread about them (can't open do to school fire wall) are they well liked on our trucks?
3. Will these cover completely cover my stake pockets? and will they rubb off my rail paint?

Here is what type i am looking for:
Soft, Black in color, NO DRILL, Able to handle the weight of snow, and would like to have the snaps for the "look"

Thanks for reading my thread and sharing your opinion.
