Axle U bolt size
I need to get longer U bolts for the trailing arms I am making. Do you think that a 1/2" diameter bolt would be strong enough? Thanks for any help.

Re: Axle U bolt size
someone else will know for sure, but i'm pretty sure the front control arms on the 67-68 pickusp use a 1/2" u-bolt to hold the control arms on and the 69+ use 9/16"...but it could be 9/16" on 67-68 and 5/8" on the 69+, respectively. those bolts are a lot shorter too. will be interested to see input - a lot of guys are all about "overkill", so ....

Re: Axle U bolt size
Thanks for the reply Shifty, I think My stock U bolts on the front were 1/2" also(1965). Thats why I thought 1/2" for the rear would be ok?
