Anyone know where to find a good quality exaust system for my '71 4X4 Suburban? Looking for something that will attach to the stock manifolds.

Would the LMC system work and has anyone had any problems with their system?

Were it me, I would have a local reputable muffler shop custom build up a set of pipes. I had 2 1/2" aluminized tubing put on the Jimmy with Walker 2 1/2" Hemi Turbo mufflers. I switched to 'vette 2 1/2" manifolds at the same time. I could not be happier. If you are keeping the 2" manifolds, I would do a 2" stepped to 2 1/4".

We have (8) trucks including a Burb and a Blazer equipped with the LMC exhaust systems. Some systems have been on for several years with no problems. We like the glass pack mufflers but they do offer stock mufflers. The LMC pipes are 2 1/4", but they are made to mount to stock manifolds.

The exhaust clamps that are supplied with the systems are a little light so we switch out to the heavy duty. Also, because they
are universal sytems to some extent, there is some fit up, but overall they are a good setup.

I've heard only good things about there mail order pipes.
And that is very hard for me to say being they come from LMC...I hate those ppl there.

I believe that you buy the kits from other sources. I thought that
Da Burb said they were made in Minnesota.

I'm sure you can get them from the manufacturer, however, i wonder if you can get a better deal.

Not sure about a better deal. We started buying the kits because we had tailpipes installed on a 71 truck, (head pipes and mufflers were already in place) and it cost us $155. For $150, we can get the whole system and the pipes are 2 1/4" gavanized. The tailpipes that were custom made were 2".

I agree Jim, I worded that kinda funny, but I ment I doubt you could get a better deal. LMC buys in bulk and that helps more than most ppl know.
As far as pipes go, I doubt there is a better bang for the buck.

That is exactly how it works too! Heart Throb Industries is just 30 miles west of me. I would have to pay more to buy it directly from them than if I ordered from LMC and they drop shipped it to me direct from Heart Throb. And I am betting that is exactly what they do. But in any case. These guys make a mean exhaust system at a reasonable price and they also make a great stainless systems too. They are big in the street rods.
