Holiday in So-Cal.
I'm taking the wife and kids to Southern California in May/June this year for our holiday from the U.K. Will be doing all the usual tourist sites, but I wondered if any of you guys over there could tell me if there are some things of interest to me, Truck wise. ie,part stores, car/truck shows, weekly meet ups etc. I've been told that the Pomona swop meet is on during our visit so I may take that in. Thanks, Phil.

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
You absolutely MUST go to the Peterson Auto Museum in downtown LA!

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
Definetly a must, right now is the Lowrider exhibit and its a really cool tribute to the culture and also history in car customization in Cali. If you will be here around the end of May and begining of June there are tons of car shows going down in the LA and Orange County area plus a few swapmeets. Keep in touch and I can give you the lowdown on whats going on and spots that you and your family can check out.

Agree on seeing the Peterson Musuem, also put the NHRA Museum at the Pomona Fairplex on your list. It is also outstanding.

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
Well thanks for the information guys. As usual, this site always comes up with useful info.
NF65FLEETSIDE, I will be too late for the Ink and Iron show, we fly home on the 5th. The Peterson Musuem sounds good so thats on the list with Pomona. We are staying at Laguna beach and a local show/ event / swapmeet or decent truck parts store nearby would be great. Can't tell you what the wife thinks though!! |

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
Thanks Nf65, I have just had a look at their on-line catalog and they seem to cover most parts for a 66 Fleetside. I need to pick up some items which you never see here in the UK. Headlamp adjuster kits, sun visors, chrome trim pieces etc. sometimes the shipping cost for parts end up being more than the parts. I'll be like a kid in a sweet shop! Thankyou for the offer of a lift, I will look it up on Google earth to see it's location. Phil.

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
Phil,
Just and FYI... in U.S. we dont call it a "Holiday". We just call it "vacation". Im sure most of us know what you meant though. |

Re: Holiday in So-Cal.
Point taken salazar 44, I guess there are a few more differences in the UK/US language cross over. Ordering truck parts usually highlights these, ie Bonnet/hood, wing/fender, handbrake/emergency brake, boot/trunk and so on. We normally get it sorted in the end though. Phil.
