fuel filter...

How do you know when it has gone bad and need to change it? I have been having a little problom with my truck latley, when I go to drive it after I put it in drive it will die and while I will be driving down the road and I dont ease of the gas to slow down and instead just let go the gas pedal it will die. At that time my fuel level was at 1/4 tank and now that I have refueled and am over 1/2 tank it wont do it. I have adjusted the screw for the fuel level and that seem to temporaly fix it but I dont want to wait till im low on fuel to find out. Any ideas?

Re: fuel filter...

i change mine every tune up which is a year or so.. its a three dollar item it change it out with your symptoms and see if it helps, but you may have either the float is off or there is crud in your tank
