stupid question about breather

i went and bought an edelbrock air cleaner and they give you a kit on it that allows you to put a fitting on the bottom so that you can hook the tube from the breather up to it recirculating exhaust gasses
currently i have the stock valve covers on the motor and at some point when i get hold of one of our members here ill be working on getting some chrome or aluminum ones on there, but my question is even when i put them on do i have to run that hose or can i get the breather cap that eliminates the hose.. I dont really have emmissions to pass on the truck, and there is no catalyctic converter on it, but i also dont want some highway cop who is in a mood to give me tickets for the trucks emmissions and i want the truck to run ok

yes you can buy a push in breather and stick it in valve cover, the pcv valve is on the other valve cover.

Re: stupid question about breather

Hose from the filter or a breather - it don't really matter, tis just an air inlet - the PCV in the other valve cover is what sucks the oil vapors out.

Re: stupid question about breather

the pcv doesnt go into the air cleaner tho this hose goes from the breather to the air cleaner i just wanna make sure its ok to eliminate that
