Re: How bad is this rust spot?

My truck was built in Canada and I believe that's why I am starting to get rust now. I was just about to start on the suspension rebuild and now i have to start looking for a cab or another truck. I am just bumped out.

Re: How bad is this rust spot?

my 1988 GMC has more rust than that, and it's INSPECTED! your cab is perfectly fine. all ya gotta do is get some sand paper sand it down in that spot til the rust is gone then just put some primer on it. our plow truck had no original floor or cab braces left let alone rockers or cab corners and we fixed and got it inspected. it's not bad at all

Re: How bad is this rust spot?

Most of the Iowa trucks came pre rusted from the factory with at least that much if not more rust already installed at the factory. They wanted to make sure they had a market for replacement panels here 35 -40 years later !!!

Seriously. Dude. I hope this your version of sarcasm. Looking for another cab?? As you can see there are plenty of takers on here for that one if you really don't want it.

Re: How bad is this rust spot?

Let's not make light of a serious problem out here in the WCRB,(West Coast Rust Belt).
I looked under the original floor matting under the clutch peddle and wish I hadn't.This is what I found;

Also this other area has me worried;

How much did you say they were getting per ton these days?

Re: How bad is this rust spot?

heres my Texas Panhandle rust. Note the vise grips on the ground under the truck. Its not the worst of the worst, but typical.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=rust

Heres some of the not good, bad, and ugly. Just some perspective. There is another thread that has some BAD rust examples. Can't find it right now.

Have to give GM credit though. The carpet was stout. I didn't figure it was that bad because of the great carpet.

LIke my dad always said "i didn't know how bad we had it as a kid untill some one told me".
