Starter & Flywheel Question
Whats the normal "spec" for clearance between starter and flywheel. Min is a little noisy and I put in a 1/32" shim and didn't help much so I installed a
1/16" one and it is a little better but still doesn't sound quite right. Fly wheell & starter are about 3 yrs old. Any help / info is GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!! Also what is the correct timing for a 69 with a 69 model 350ci motor. |

Re: Starter & Flywheel Question
With the starter gear engaged in the flywheel, put a large paperclip between the flywheel gear valley and the starter tooth peak. That is about the same size as a .022 wire gauge. That is what you want for a general starter to flywheel clearance.
