New project 71 Blazer
I've wanted one of these for ages. saw this one and couldn't hold back. More pics to come.
Has a 406 in it now with a 350thm. Runs and drives. Everything is pretty solid, the rear quarters need help, the top is busted up pretty good in places. It is 37 years old so meh. |

Looks like it has North Dakota plates. Blazers are for import only, not export.

Re: New project 71 Blazer
I found this truck sitting in Underwood ND, after about a year I was able to track down the owner, and fully expected to get the old "I'm not selling it, I plan on fixing it up some day, everyone stops and asks, etc etc etc", you know, the carsinbarns.com thing.
Obviously, not so, really great guy, and it turns out our paths have probably crossed at one time or another drag racing. I will get more pics up soon, it's just at the shop getting a pre-safety inspection so I can get the parts together and get it safetied. It needs hood, front fenders and a passenger door for sure, I'll replace rear quarters. Floors, body mounts etc are in nice shape, as well as the rockers surprisingly. It'll need seat skins and interior stuff, and lots of work on the top, it's cracked up pretty bad. My plan is to make it drivable, probably a small lift and bigger rubber, certainly will not be a show vehicle, this one is for fun. More pics to come. |

Re: New project 71 Blazer
Quick update, put a new windshield and seal in, as by the photos you can see the original is out.
Took it in to see what I need for a safety, all it need is rear drums and shoes, rear wheel cylinder, windshield and wipers (done) and the body mounts are fubar. Since none of the rust goes through into the cab that's not a problem. I ordered a reman front driveshaft from RockAuto and a 2 inch body lift since I have to change the body mounts anyway, and it should be on the road. Still need to get those pics out. Soon, soon. |
