Unhappy 70 K-10 Problems! HELP!!!

I need some help please. My son's 70 K-10 starts, idels, revs just fine. However, is has started missing really bad when you drive through town at 25 mph, or start up a hill in 4th gear. It misses so bad that it feels like something is going to break. Now, if you push in the clutch and rev it up it sounds normal again. As soon as you let the clutch out it starts missing again. Again, it starts and idels just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

easy stuff first
the first thing i would do is check your ignition for water in the dist or loose wires, then the plugs followed by timming. water in the gas? etc.

hopefully others can add more

Replace the plugs. It can't hurt.
My truck was chugging like an old plow horse when it would try to go up a hill. Found one bad plug. That fixed it.
I "think" some of the gunk you might find on the plugs is caused by the additives they put in the gas at some stations.
My bad one was at the rear passenger side.

Forgot something.
I have a mild RV cam in my 350 (360 now)
It sounded mean at idle - until I set the idle screws.
One side was lean. Opened it up a bit and it purred like a kitten.
That was on the same side that I had the gunked up plug.

Last time mine acted like that, the distributor cap was carbon tracked really bad.

Thanks for all the tips. We are going to check the HEI distributor today for loose wire and maybe take the Holley off my 71 C-10 and put on it to see if its the carb. By the way, the truck has new plugs and plug wires, HEI distributor, we've recently put in new lifters, push rods, and we adjusted the valves by the book. Thanks again.
