1985 K1500 AIR system?
UHK emissions label: federal low altitude w/ auto tranny alternate. 305's out and all the smog stuff went with it. now a 350 LO5 is in and I need to replace the smog stuff. stan's headers can make a set to fit, but I need to know what the original smog pipes looked like. were they 4 post or 2? did they screw into the manifold or were they connected? were the connections straight or angled? I don't know what stan's talking about, hopefully you will. thanks.

I think mine is UHK also. I'll need to check tomorrow. Here is the way my headers look.

Thanks swervin ervin
I posted a reply on another message of yours, just disregard that other message. I really appreciate your help, from the looks of your site, I'm in the same boat you were in several years ago... except that I'm just now learning how to properly gap spark plugs, and you've rebuilt/modified your entire truck. My truck came with an LO5 350, 1-pc rear main seal, from a 1992 Suburban... but I don't know what kind of shape it's in. All I know is that it's got "thousandth" bearings (?) and was supposedly rebuilt (how do I find that out?) I'll soon ID the heads and decide what I'll need to do there (any tips?). Otherwise I'm looking at Stan's headers, a Weiand intake, Edelbrock Q-jet, Painless harness, and an MSD Super HEI system. For tuning purposes I might go all Edelbrock (heads, cam, intake, carb). This is long, I apologize, but it's a pleasure to "talk" with you. Thanks.

Thanks 85K5
Thanks for the photos! It's exactly what's on my dang exhaust manifolds. It's a 1-pc pipe that connects to the manifold, now I need to go to a 1-to-4 to "bridge" between the primaries. My wife-to-be just said that I've got the exact same look on my face as Boo (our lab pup) when he learns a new command. Thanks alot guys, ya'll just taught me "AIR pipe 101".

Not the neatest and cleanest engine compartment but let me know if you need any more pics, since you want all that stuff back on and might not know where it goes or what it looks like. There's not really all that much as far as "power robbing" emissions goes. BTW I can reduce size also if you need. (dial up)

Sorry 85K5
I got so excited when I found out what the heck this AIR stuff is, that I missed your question. The headers are the 173Y Tri-Y, check the site: www.stans-headers.com. As for the smog modification, NOT CHEAP, cupla C-notes after shipping. But you'd have to contact them for the straight dope. Hope that got it.
