Re: 86 Silverado build thread

Progress and fab work look great, also like the direction and theme of the truck! Good work.

Thanks a whole lot guys. This is my first "project truck" so hopefully it turns out okay.

No one probably really cares but here is a couple of pictures of the truck that I sold to build this one.

Is that red chevy the black one with green graphics from hills hot rods. It has those exact same wheels. Or is it a totally different truck. Just wondering.

Nope. Two different trucks. The wheels actually aren't the same wheels......The wheels on the black truck were the prototype to my wheels......

Re: 86 Silverado build thread

Your work looks well planned out and executed.
(The clearance for the rear shocks looks kinda tight.)
I do have a question: is there a reason why you didn't place a weld between the vertical supports of your notch and the inner surface of the frame rail? The frame mods looks good and the powder coating sets it off nicely. Should look nice once the frame and the suspension is assembled.

BTW, what size are the bar ends (bushings) on the four bar? Are they the same width as the adjustable bar ends?

You can argue with me but you can't argue with figures. Two half nothings is a whole nuthin...

The clearance is extremely tight on the rear shocks but should work out fine.
There are actually welds where you stated. They were just grinded down smooth to look like there wasn't any there.
The bushings on the four link bars are 3". The dog bones are 2.5".

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like you did alot of grinding and finish work on the frame and mods.

Re: 86 Silverado build thread

If anyone cares here are some teasers to what I have been doing. I bagged an 02 silverado so that got me way behind on the c10.
