I pulled the control arm bushings off and realized that someone had bottomed out the truck and bent them at the bushing. Is this fixable? I work in a metal shop and can straiten just about anything I guess the real question is should I try?

Thats a good question. Im no expert on what you want to do. But that steel is pretty thick. Might try see if you could find a set laying around from some one.

I got a new (used) set at a you pull it yard, it was around $20 bucks. You may check around it might be cheaper or faster to get another set..

I just called my local junk yard and they don’t have them, if they did it would be $35 a piece. The next closest junk yard is like 5 hrs away in either Denver or Salt Lake. New ones are like $109 from Classic Parts. I guess I’ll try to straiten them.

Go to car-part.com. It is a list of salvage yards all over the US and canada with parts menu and search.

You know what screw it. I’ve been kicking around making my own control arms and think I’ve got my excuse. I figure if I don’t do it now I’ll always wish I had. I have access to a tubing bender, notcher, tig welder hell even a water jet. Any tips on materials or modifications I should make while I'm at it (I’m not lowering or raising it)?
