Hello
Hey there,
I've been browsing the board for quite a while now. I've finally decided to ask a few questions and introduce myself. About 6 months ago I picked up a 1971 K5 that has a fair bit of rust but is in otherwise remarkably unmolsted condition. It's the stock color (light blue) with one respray, a 2.5" lift 350, 4spd, 4WD, non-A/C, etc. I'm going through all of the drivetrain at the moment. It's currently my daily driver until the weather gets a bit more consistent and the VFR comes out to play. I'll be doing a Diesel +5spd conversion and a full visual restoration. It won't be a showroom restoration, but I like customization when most people don't realize it isn't stock... integration impresses me. Anyway, looking forward to being a bigger part of the community. Thanks |

Re: Hello
Thanks for the warm welcome guys...
Ask... and ye shall receive... The old girl's in pretty good shape. It had a Ford bench seat when I bought it. I've since added factory buckets and a factory rear seat. It currently sits with 3/4 running gear under it because it had a 3.73 front ratio and a 3.08 rear ratio when I picked it up (didn't really think to check for that...). So the 8 lug stuff went under for winter just so I could have 4WD. |

Re: Hello
Here's some pics of my parts/donor vehicles. I picked up the '72 rolling chassis for the tub and doors (It's a K5 that has a 2WD front adapted to it). It has a little bit of rust on the floor boards, but that's really about it. I picked up the '72 with my bread van... which you can later see being torn apart for the motor... good times... good times...
