Re: 454 engine

Is the 454 injected or carbed?

Is the current 3 speed auto or manual?

Some other stuff you may not have thought of: radiator, driveshaft, various linkages & of course motor mounts.

I haven't done a swap like this, but lot's of members have.

We're gonna need more info to help.

With the exception of the cam, that's the engine I put in mine. I started with a 350 though. The cam I'm using is a Xtreme Energy 552/550 286 dur. I had the heads opened up with 2.190's / 1.880's too... It's a nasty combo, sounds great. Of course, I put all MSD on it, electric fan, 700R4. Don't know how accurate but Desktop Dyno says 451hp/502ft lbs @ 5500. Workin' on Bags now before I put it back on the road.

As far as the engine.. depending on how you want it to perform, you can build it like you have it or pump it up a bit. Mine is just mild. www.compams.com has a section where you can listen to their cams.
